 About the role: 

As part of our Data Analytics & Engineering team you will help lead the implementation of our new Cloud data platform (Snowflake, dbt, Power BI) as well as the migration from our existing SQL Server database.  Additionally, you will build out our Dimensional Model to meet the needs of Analysts and downstream users of reporting tools.  We are a small team which means we can move quickly; it also means you will get the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of initiatives across the organisation.

You’ll bring the following experience to the table:

  • 5 years minimum experience in data engineering or similar data role
  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology,  Information Systems or other related field
  • Retail banking experience desired but not essential 

Proven and successful experience in:

  • Snowflake for data warehousing and DBT for transformations. Standard reporting and visualisation tools such as Power BI and cloud environments like AWS. Familiarity with AWS Lambda would be a bonus.
  • Data analytics techniques and an in-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts (including dimensional modeling)
  • Working with a wide range of data sources including XML and JSON, plus the ability to extract data from API’s. Python skills would be desirable.
  • SQL, including the ability to write complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, ETL development in SSIS. 
  • Developing new systems and providing end user training
  • An Agile team environment
