DO or Experienced Eyewear Consultant
Your skills. Our team. The view of a lifetime.
How would you like a commute lined with golden autumn trees, a lunch break in a historic village and weekends on world-class ski fields?
At OCULA Queenstown in Arrowtown, that’s normal life. We’re looking for an experienced Dispensing Optician or Eyewear Consultant (4+ years) who’s ready for a career move that improves everything else too.
You’re great at what you do. Come and do it somewhere extraordinary.
You know eyewear inside out. You can read a script in seconds, find the frame that makes someone light up and get a fit just right. You’d rather build a real relationship with a patient than make a quick sale. If that sounds like you, we want to meet you.
The Role
You’ll be the eyewear expert people trust. Working side by side with our Optometrists, you’ll give every patient a premium, unhurried experience, from the first frame they try on to the final adjustment. People will leave seeing better, looking great and asking for you by name.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Giving expert, personal dispensing advice that makes every patient feel looked after
- Matching patients with frames and lenses that suit their lifestyle, vision and style
- Owning fittings, adjustments, repairs and aftercare
- Helping the practice run smoothly and look its best every day
- Building loyal, lasting patient relationships
- Bringing good energy to a close-knit, supportive team
What You’ll Bring
- Dispensing Optician with a current ODOB Practising Certificate, or an experienced Eyewear Consultant with strong optical knowledge and over 4 years experience
- Real confidence with lenses, coatings and frame styling
- A warm, professional, patient-first manner
- Sharp communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work on your own and as part of a team
- Availability to start ASAP
What’s In It For You
- Medical insurance, so your health is covered
- Your birthday off, every year. Spend it on the slopes, the lake or a long lunch.
- A team that backs you, values your expertise and celebrates great work
- A role where your experience is valued and makes a real difference
- A work-life balance most people only dream about
Why Arrowtown? Because life’s too short for an ordinary backdrop.
Arrowtown is a charming gold-rush village just 20 minutes from Queenstown. It has tree-lined streets, boutique shops, great cafés and a community that greets you by name. You get the whole Queenstown Lakes region on your doorstep without the hustle.
- Winter: some of the Southern Hemisphere’s best ski fields, close to home
- Summer: lakes, mountain biking, trail running, hiking and golf, with long evenings to enjoy them
- Autumn: Arrowtown at its famous golden best
- Every season: award-winning wineries, a thriving food scene and views that never get old
People save for years to holiday here. You’d get to live here.
Why OCULA?
At OCULA, great eye care starts with great people. We look after our patients, and we look after each other. You’ll join a passionate, supportive team that values patient experience, collaboration and high clinical standards, in a practice where your expertise is respected.
