Contract: Permanent, Part Time (19 hours per week)

Hours of Work: Monday and Friday 8.30am-4.30pm, Sunday 10am-2pm

Location: SPCA Christchurch Centre

The SPCA Christchurch Centre is looking for an energetic Customer Service Officer who enjoys working with a wide variety of people to provide excellent customer service and positive animal welfare outcomes.

This is a busy role, where no two days will be the same, the successful candidate will need to be self-motivated, technologically savvy, energetic, passionate about providing positive welfare outcomes for animals and show a high level of initiative. 

As customer service is a focus, the successful candidate will need to be a people person and be able to relate and communicate effectively to a wide range of people. Problem solving is also an important aspect to this role and so a can do and think outside the box mind-set is a must.

Our ideal candidate will have:

· Customer Service experience

· Experience and or a passion to learn about animal care, handling, behaviour, enrichment and welfare

· High level of verbal and written communication 

· Be technologically savvy – have sound computer skills including the use of e-mail, internet and Microsoft Office applications

· Be supportive, empathetic and resilient

· Ability to work effectively without supervision and effectively prioritise daily tasks

· A commitment to high quality work and professionalism

· Excellent interpersonal skills – communicate effectively with customers, volunteers and other employees

· Demonstrated strengths in accuracy, precision and attention to detail

· Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as to work alone

· Ability to manage confidential information with responsibility and integrity

· Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability (will include flexibility of hours) 

· Highly organised with the ability to prioritise, multi task and meet expected deadlines 

· Ability to manage stress and handle emotional situations while retaining empathy
