Venue Support Crew

We’re looking for a Venue Support Crew team member to join our Sport & Recreation team based at the Queenstown Events Centre. The Venue Support Crew team member is an integral part of our team and plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the Queenstown Events Centre is well presented, runs smoothly and that our customers are well looked after.

What you’ll be doing

This varied role will work alongside the Venue Support Supervisor and is responsible for ensuring meeting rooms, playing fields, courts and all related equipment are available on time for customer bookings. You will also carry out minor maintenance and cleaning tasks where required and support the Customer Services Team during peak times.

What you’ll bring to the role

You’ll be self-motivated and will work well within our positive and energetic team environment. You’ll be able to demonstrate outstanding customer service skills, be committed to maintaining a professional looking venue and have excellent communication skills. If you have a background in customer service, hospitality, retail, grounds or caretaking experience and enjoy applying yourself practically – this role may be for you. 

To best succeed in this role, you’ll have:

  • A passion for sports, health and wellness
  • Prior experience in a customer facing role
  • NCEA Level 3 in Sports and Recreation, or a relevant Trade is desirable but not essential
  • A current first aid certificate, fire warden and staff safety training is desirable (we can assist to you gain this) 
  • Experience in general repair and maintenance would be warmly received
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and customer service skills 
  • A highly motivated, achievement orientated and innovative approach
  • A current and valid drivers licence
