Mō te tūranga - About the role
Family Works delivers a variety of programmes including social work; counselling support for whānau experiencing family violence; together with one on one counselling support to adults, couples, youth, children and whānau. This includes both group and individual programmes and dedicated support for tamariki/rangatahi and wāhine who have experienced trauma.
Under our ACC Sensitive Claims contract we are offering counselling services for individuals who have experienced trauma, working through referrals under the ACC sensitive claims for tane, wāhine and tamariki/rangatahi.
This role is full time, working with some flexibility to accommodate hours that meet the needs of our clients, which may occasionally mean delivering counselling services outside of the normal working day/week. What is important is that we listen to the needs of our clients and work to enable positive outcomes and do right by the person. The caseload can be high and we must be responsive and manage workloads within the team accordingly. No two days will be the same, our counsellors may be involved in both individual and group work and other related services designed to support a range of individuals and their support needs.
Mō koe - About You
You will be a passionate, energetic person with the ability to connect to a wide variety of people. You will be knowledgeable, organised and have excellent communication skills. Your approach to your work will be with kindness, a good understanding of the counselling Modalities and process. You will also be culturally competent and responsive and adopt a person-centred approach.
You will be a Counsellor with experience working both on a one to one with clients and running group programmes supporting individuals dealing with family harm. You will need to have strong personal resilience, be empathetic and compassionate to support our clients.
