Mō te tūraka mahi | About the role
Based in the College of Community Development and Personal Wellbeing the Counselling Lecturer will join the Bachelor of Social Services Team.
The main duties and responsibilities of the Lecturer role include:
· Preparing and delivering course content for the counselling specialty within the Bachelor’s programme
· Willingness to work towards a tertiary teaching qualification (if not already held)
There may be Counselling supervision for ākonga (learners) as part of this role depending on the skillset and applications receive
Ko wai koe | About you
To perform effectively in this role, the successful candidate will have:
· Counselling qualification (Bachelor’s degree as a minimum)
· Experience of counselling in a variety of contexts
· Experience providing counselling supervision would be an advantage
· A sound working knowledge of different counselling modalities (i.e. Person-Centred, CBT, SFBT, ACT)
· Appropriate professional body membership (i.e. NZAC, DAPANZ or equivalent)
· Commitment to and understanding of responsibilities under Te Tiriti o Waitangi
· Experience of facilitating learning and positive growth in others
· Teaching experience at tertiary level, with associated qualification would be an advantage
