Mō te tūnga | About the role:
Join our team as a part‑time Cook, where your flexibility and passion for great food will make a real difference each day.
You’ll work a fixed roster of Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, 8.30 am–5.30 pm (24 hours a week), you’ll also have the chance to pick up additional shifts from time to time to help cover leave.
As an integral part of our kitchen team, you’ll contribute to the health and well being of our residents by preparing delicious, nutritious, and safe meals tailored to individual dietary needs. You’ll help ensure the smooth running of our kitchen by maintaining high standards of hygiene and adhering to our Food Control Plan. Working closely with the team, you’ll create a positive dining experience that supports comfort, dignity, and care.

Ngā kawenga | Key Responsibilities:
As our Cook you will be responsible for:
- preparing and cook a variety of nutritious and delicious meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of all our residents
- ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and health and safety policies
- managing the timely and accurate ordering of food and kitchen supplies to maintain smooth kitchen operations
- leading and supporting the kitchen team, fostering a collaborative environment and helping team members grow their skills and confidence.

- proven experience as a cook, with a strong commitment to food quality, safety, and meeting diverse dietary requirements
- a warm and approachable personality that helps foster a positive, respectful atmosphere for both residents and the kitchen team
- an understanding or willingness to learn about modified textures and fluid diets ensuring meals meet the specific needs of our residents
- a passion for mentoring and supporting others, helping team members grow their skills and confidence
- the ability to stay calm and efficient in a busy kitchen, consistently meeting deadlines without compromising on quality.
