We’re looking for a reliable and motivated Cook to join our team in Cromwell, where we support residents in our various living options across two care facilities. 

This is permanent role for 32 hours per week, working on a rotational roster. The role will include weekend work on rotation.


What you'll do:

  • Support the smooth daily operation of the kitchen
  • Prepare and cook and serve nutritious and well-presented meals
  • Assist with baking
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic work area
  • Work closely with the Kitchen Manager/Head Chef to ensure menus are followed and residents’ dietary, cultural and religious needs are met
  • Provide support to the wider kitchen team as needed and play an important part in delivering a positive dining experience for our residents 
  • Adhere to safe food handling practices
  • Provide back up and support to the Kitchen Manager / Head Chef as needed and complete all reasonable tasks as required by them, which may include food ordering, menu development, orientation / training for other kitchen team members, etc.


What you'll bring:

  • NZQF Level 2 or 3 qualification, or at least one year of relevant experience
  • Experience working in Aged Care will be advantageous
  • Current food industry certificates, especially NZQA Unit Standard 167. Successful candidates who do not hold this qualification will be supported to achieve this.  
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to motivate others

  • High level of personal integrity, discretion, and tact, maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Strong team player
  • Good planning and organisational skills
