Control DCS Technician

We are seeking a motivated person with a passion to help, to join our Control systems support group at the OJI Fibre Solutions Tasman site in the Mighty BOP. This is a small, largely autonomous team which operates mill wide, so has a wide variety of work. This is a hands-on role which includes; Trouble shooting, Maintenance and configuration for minor plant changes.  

This is a permanent full time position (40 hours per week) the hourly rate for this role is $65.47 per hour. 

To be considered:

• You will have a strong Electrical/Instrumentation capability
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the heavy manufacturing industrial sector ideally in the pulp & paper industry. 
• Experience working with DCS, PLC’, VSD’s, SCADA and engineering workstations.
• You will have an electrician qualification with the ability to work towards a practicing license.  An EST registration equivalent will also be considered 

Some of the Equipment, Systems and Tasks include 

• All major PLC OEM, including Allen Bradley PLC 5, Control logix PLC’s, HMI’s and engineering workstations, including communication protocols such as Device net, Control net, remote I/O, Data highway+ and ethernet communication protocols.
• Allen Variable Speed Drives including the communications protocols above.
• Bailey DCS systems, including LAN90 HMI and Engineering workstations.
• Foxboro EVO DCS system, including Hardware, Software, Firmware, HMI, Networking, Managed switch’s and Engineering workstations.
• DeltaV DCS system including HMI, Networking, and Engineering workstations.
• IFIX HMI.
• Industrial controllers and monitoring equipment such as Woodward speed controllers and Bentley Navada vibration monitoring.
