Step into a rewarding Contract Milking role on a proven 148 effective hectare dairy farm just 25 km from Whangārei. With a well-established system, strong infrastructure, and clear production benchmarks, this is an excellent opportunity to lead day-to-day farm operations and continue building your contracting career.

The previous Holstein Friesian herd has recently been sold, and the farm will be re-stocked with a 360-cow crossbred herd milked through a 36-aside herringbone cowshed, supported by a feed pad, two wintering pads, and extensive implement shedding. The farm has a strong production history, averaging 145,000 kgMS, and a recent Farmax review indicates a minimum of 120,000 kgMS, with further upside potential.

Approximately 30 remaining cows will be winter-milked, providing a valuable income stream alongside the main-season contract. Production is supported by solid feeding infrastructure, including 15 ha of on-farm maize, homegrown baleage and bulk silage, and supplementary feeds such as PKE, DDG, and soy meal as required.

The owners are seeking a motivated, self-managing Contract Milker who can take responsibility for daily operations while working collaboratively with the farm owner. Strong communication, leadership, and a practical, performance-driven approach will be essential in maintaining and improving farm results.

The ideal applicant will:

  • Has proven farm management experience

  • Show a high standard of animal health, welfare, and stockmanship
  • Be confident operating machinery and undertaking general farm maintenance

  • Be committed to maintaining high health and safety standards

The location offers an excellent rural lifestyle with easy access to Whangārei, schooling options, services, and recreational amenities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career and manage a successful, well-equipped farm. Progression opportunities may be available for the successful candidate.

Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand, be drug free, and provide an up-to-date CV with references, including their current employer.
