Step into an exciting Contract Milking role on a thriving 126-hectare farm near Taupiri. With a well-established system and equipment ready for use, you can lead operations confidently and progress toward your own setup.

The high input farm is currently milking up to 380 Friesian cross cows through a 34-aside herringbone cowshed with adjacent feed pad. With a 3-year average milk production of 156,000 kgMS, the farm is well-positioned for continued success with effective management. The infrastructure is solid, and effluent irrigation ensures consistent grass growth throughout the summer.

The owners are looking for a skilled and self-motivated individual who can take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations and manage the farm with oversight of farm owner/supervisors. Your ability to manage staff, communicate effectively, and keep the farm performing at a high level will be key to success in this role.

The ideal applicant will:

• Have a minimum of 3 years’ farm management experience.
• Proven ability in pasture management and feed planning to optimise production 
• Strong background in animal health, welfare, and husbandry practices.
• Skilled and confident in operating machinery and carrying out general farm maintenance.
• Effective communicator with well-developed leadership and people management skills.
• Committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety across all farm activities.
