Mō te tūraka mahi | About the role
As the Content Writer, you will join the Marketing, Communications and Engagement Team, creating clear and engaging content for both online and offline channels. Your job is to write content that connects with our external and internal audiences and stakeholders, using creativity and insights to help us achieve our recruitment goals.
You’ll build relationships and network to uncover great stories to share. You’ll be a strong storyteller who can adapt messages for different channels, from digital content, campaign copy and printed collateral, to social media content, student nurture communications and intranet posts. You’ll work closely with the team, collaborating on projects, campaigns, and pitching in when things get busy. You’ll have a genuine passion for writing, a love for proofreading and will enjoy being part of an incredible brand and an energetic, process-driven team that is always seeking to create great brand communications.

Your success in this role comes from being a high-energy, confident and highly productive communicator who’s organised and proactive. You’ll bring expertise for storytelling and delivering high-quality work, using your creativity to craft content that drives engagement and achieves our goals.
The successful applicant will show a strong commitment to the values and strategic priorities of Otago Polytechnic along with continual research to know the diverse cultural needs of our audiences. Your passion for content and communications will be evident in your portfolio of work (hot tip: share your specific achievements and results).
You will be able to demonstrate the following:
· A commitment to being an effective Te Tiriti o Waitangi partner by supporting the values and tikaka of mana whenua throughout your mahi (work)
· Excellent computer literacy and ability to use full suite of Microsoft products (particularly Word, Excel and SharePoint/Teams).
