Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga (TToH) is seeking a Dentist to work in our busy, community, focused Dental practice.
If you believe in equity and accessible Dental care for all, our role is for you.  

We are looking for a Dentist keen to work up to 32 hours a week.  We are open to discussions about 1 or 2 days a week and job sharing.
We are flexible in days and hours for the right person or people who want to support the community with their skills.
You will be joining a team of long term, experienced and skilled Dentist and Dental Assistants who will warmly welcome you to the team.

About Us

TToH is one of NZ's largest kaupapa Māori health and social services organisation.  Based at our large site in Orchard Road, Hastings for over 40 years we have provided a wide range of health and social services to our community from pēpē to kaumatua.  

About our Dental Service
Oranga Niho is our Cornerstone Accredited Dental service that delivers quality, evidence-based services to our 1500 enrolled patients. We operate a mixed model with a focus on high needs funded care. We work to improve the health of our community and are committed to improving equity and access to Dental care in our local population and in particular to Māori and Pacifica communities.    

The Role
We need your help to provide Relief of Pain [ROP] treatment, Rangatahi services, Hapu Mama and our private patients in need of affordable Dentistry services in our clinic.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Dentistry
  • Current Practicing Certificate
  • Radiation License
  • Knowledge of health and social issues and barriers affecting Māori health and well-being
  • The willingness and competency to treat a range of whānau
  • Proven experience working effectively with the community
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Te Ao Māori and Te Reo or a willingness to learn
  • Full, current Drivers licence
