Horowhenua District Council is looking for an experienced Communications and Engagement Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The successful applicant will join our Communication and Engagement Team, working closely with our Infrastructure Team and the wider Community Vision and Delivery Group.
In this role you’ll drive the end-to-end communications and engagement process. You’ll partner with internal and external stakeholders to effectively deliver key messages to our community and media partners, with a focus on key capital projects. To thrive in this role, you’ll love translating complex issues into plain English, so a strong background and understanding of the infrastructure space is desirable. 

He kōrero mōu - About you

You’re a self-starter with a curious nature and a collaborative approach. You’ll love understanding how people tick, and will make it your mission to deliver communications that resonate with people. If you don’t know how to do something, you’ll own it and learn how to do it. 

Using data to drive insights, you’ll turn these into meaningful communications. With proven experience in the Digital Marketing space (including the backend of social media platforms), you’ll create compelling, engaging and creative communications across all media channels and publications.
