At Heritage Lifecare, we’re investing in the future of care. With over 40 care homes and villages across Aotearoa, we're growing—strategically, sustainably, and with aroha at our core.
We’re on the hunt for a high-performing Commercial and Business Investment Analyst. This is an excellent opportunity to shape how a growing organisation evaluates and governs spend and investment decisions. You will work closely with senior leaders across the business and help build a more disciplined, evidence-based approach to decision making and value delivery.
About the Role
This is a high-impact role working across Operations, Property, Technology, People & Culture, and other business functions to support better spending and investment decisions. You will help establish and embed a consistent business case framework, including templates, standards, and guidance, and will coach managers to prepare robust business cases for projects, initiatives, and investments. You will bring strong commercial thinking, challenge assumptions constructively, and ensure proposals clearly set out the problem, options, financial impact, operational implications, implementation requirements, risks, and expected benefits. We require on demand modelling and looking at opportunities to innovate and change the way we deliver services.
A key part of the role will be partnering with Commercial Finance to support project setup, budgets, reporting, and benefits tracking for approved initiatives, so that decisions remain visible and accountable after funding is approved.
You will also contribute to process improvement, workflow design, and governance controls where these strengthen decision quality and delivery outcomes. As you will be working with data, it is important you have strong Excel capability and an ability to pick up systems quickly.
About you
· You have experience preparing high-quality business cases, investment proposals, or commercial decision-support papers.
· You are confident in financial modelling, including cost-benefit analysis, sensitivity analysis, and scenario modelling.
· You can translate complex information into clear recommendations for operational and non-financial stakeholders.
· You are comfortable building templates, frameworks, and processes that improve consistency and decision quality.
· You are detail-oriented, analytical, inquisitive, and comfortable challenging the status quo constructively.
· You build strong relationships and work effectively across multiple teams and leadership levels.
· You are highly organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities.
· You have strong Excel skills and can quickly learn new systems.
Desirable Background
· Experience in aged care, healthcare, social infrastructure, or other service-based sectors.
· Experience with project governance, PMO disciplines, or benefits realisation.
· Experience with business intelligence / reporting tools.
· Formal project management, business case, or continuous improvement training.
