Cloud Engineer
Fixed Term Contract (August 2026 - April 2027)

We're looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer with a deep background in Microsoft Azure to join our Technology team and help shape the future of cloud services at TSB.

In this role, you'll design, build and support secure, resilient cloud platforms that enable our application and platform teams to deliver exceptional services for both customers and colleagues. You'll play a key role in driving cloud excellence across the organisation by improving reliability, automation, security and self-service capabilities.

Working closely with teams across Technology, you'll contribute to cloud architecture, operational standards, continuous improvement initiatives and platform engineering practices that help us deliver scalable and efficient solutions.

What you'll be doing

  • Designing, building and supporting secure, scalable and resilient cloud platforms.
  • Maintaining and improving cloud operations through effective incident, request and change management practices.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve reliability, performance, efficiency and operational maturity.
  • Driving automation and reducing manual effort through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud automation tooling.
  • Supporting cloud security initiatives and ensuring platforms meet governance and operational standards.
  • Defining and measuring platform reliability through Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budgets.
  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation, standards, operational procedures and best practice guidance.
  • Providing technical expertise, support and mentoring across cloud technologies and platform services.
  • Contributing to projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance our cloud capabilities.

Who are we looking for?

You'll be a collaborative and proactive Cloud Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and continuously improving the way technology services are delivered.

You'll bring:

  • Experience designing, implementing and supporting cloud platforms in a modern enterprise environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, automation and Infrastructure as Code practices.
  • Experience working within operational support environments, including incident, change and request management.
  • A passion for improving reliability, security and operational efficiency.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and a desire to simplify processes through automation.
  • Experience with cloud security, monitoring and observability practices.
  • A customer-focused approach and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
