❤️ About the Role:

We’re looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist – Cardiology to join our Care and Support Clinical Team in a full-time, permanent role. In this position, you’ll use your clinical expertise to develop high-quality consumer and health professional resources, deliver education and training, support Heart Health Promotors, and help raise awareness of cardiovascular disease across Aotearoa New Zealand.

You’ll also play an important role in building strong relationships across the health sector, especially with primary care providers, PHOs, and other clinical stakeholders. This role includes contributing to campaigns, supporting consumer-facing services, and representing the Heart Foundation through conferences, symposiums, and other sector engagement opportunities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and reviewing clinical resources for consumers and health professionals across digital, online, and print formats.
  • Writing and quality assuring clinical content that reflects current evidence and best practice.
  • Delivering education,  workshops, and training to internal teams, health professionals, and other audiences.
  • Providing clinical training, advice, and ongoing support to Heart Health Promotors to build confidence, capability, and consistency.
  • Supporting the  development and maintenance of competency frameworks, guidelines, and training materials for Heart Health Promotors.
  • Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships across the health sector, with a  particular emphasis on primary care and PHOs.
  • Contributing clinical expertise to Heart Foundation campaigns, consumer offerings, and awareness  initiatives.
  • Taking a lead role in conference and symposium participation, including identifying speaking and engagement opportunities.

❤️ What we’re looking for:

Our ideal candidate will be a current NZ Registered Nurse with a practising certificate, along with a relevant tertiary qualification at Clinical Nurse Specialist or Educator level, ideally with specialist cardiology expertise. You’ll bring experience in cardiovascular disease, long-term conditions, and training delivery, along with the ability to develop health-literate resources and work confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you’ll also have:

  • Strong experience building effective networks with health professionals and key stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Experience developing training for both health and non-health audiences.
  • Experience in primary or secondary care settings.
  • A valid, clean full driver’s licence.
