Makoha Rest Home, Hospital & Rehabilitation Centre is a privately owned Rotorua facility providing holistic, personalised care for just 32 residents. We’re seeking an experienced, confident Clinical Nurse Manager to lead this dedicated team and uphold the high standard of care for which Makoha is known. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a smaller, whānau-focused environment where you can build meaningful relationships and make a real impact every day.

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

 Additional: Rostered on-call telephone support

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the clinical and care teams to deliver high-quality resident care.
  • Provide safe, professional nursing care using evidence-based practice.
  • Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care plans.
  • Ensure care is culturally sensitive, resident-focused, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support residents and families through clear communication and empathetic care.
  • Act as a clinical resource, offering guidance, mentoring, and expert advice
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, compliance, and quality assurance processes.

About You

You’ll bring strong clinical judgement, a passion for aged care, and the ability to lead with both professionalism and heart.

You will also have:

  • A current NZ Annual Practising Certificate
  • Strong clinical leadership skills and confidence in decision-making
  • Rehabilitation experience is preferred but not essential.
  • A solid understanding of aged care standards, documentation, and funding      requirements
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Empathy for residents of all ages and their families
  • Good time management, resilience, and the ability to adapt to change
  • NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
