Clinical Nurse Lead - Theatre

Southern Cross North Harbour Hospital

Southern Cross North Harbour Hospital represents a fast-developing private healthcare campus on Auckland's North Shore. One of four Southern Cross wholly owned hospital sites in the Auckland region, the North Harbour campus includes the only private surgical in-patient hospital on the North Shore. Within our campus is the Northern Clinic which is home to a range of specialist consulting suites and treatment centres including endoscopy, cardiology services, cancer care, sports medicine and radiology.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

As our Clinical Nurse Lead within the Theatre team, you’ll be right at the heart of our perioperative service — leading from the floor and setting the tone for clinical excellence every day. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves the buzz of theatre, thrives in a hands-on leadership role, and is passionate about building a strong, high-performing team.

This is a full-time position (0.9 – 1 FTE), reporting to the Theatre Services Manager. You’ll provide visible, supportive leadership across our operating theatres, helping ensure every patient receives safe, efficient, and genuinely patient-centred care throughout their surgical journey. In our dynamic environment, no two days are the same — and you’ll play a key role in keeping standards high, supporting your team, and driving best practice across a range of specialties. Orthopaedic experience would be a real advantage, but we’re open to experienced theatre leaders from other specialties too.

You’ll be closely involved in workforce planning, quality improvement initiatives, and nurturing a positive, accountable team culture where people feel supported to grow. Collaboration is a big part of this role — you’ll work alongside anaesthetic technicians, surgeons, theatre nurses, and senior leaders to keep theatre flow seamless and outcomes exceptional.

If you’re energised by the pace of theatre, lead with authenticity and integrity, and genuinely enjoy mentoring and developing others while maintaining high clinical standards, we’d love to talk with you.
