Southern Cross North Harbour Hospital is the only private surgical in-patient hospital on the Auckland’s North Shore. North Harbour Hospital has 8 Operating Rooms, a 14 bed Post Anaesthetic Care Unit, a modern well-equipped day stay facility unit and a 70-bed ward which includes a 4-bed intermediate care facility (ICF).
Surgical specialities include General Surgery, Gynaecology, Oral & Maxillofacial surgery, Urology, Orthopaedic surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, Urology, Otolaryngology and Robotic Surgery. In addition to the hospital, the broader North Shore campus is also home to a purpose-built endoscopy suite, on-site cardiology services, cancer care, pharmacy, sports medicine, radiology and more.
Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Nurse Educator to join our Surgical Ward for a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering parental leave. This is a rewarding role where you'll influence clinical excellence, support professional growth, and help shape the capability of our nursing workforce.
Working closely with the Education team, Ward Services Manager, Clinical Leaders and wider multidisciplinary team, you will champion a culture of learning, development and continuous improvement. You will design, coordinate and deliver education programmes, support onboarding and competency development, facilitate PDRP progression, and provide coaching and mentorship to nurses at all stages of their careers. You'll play a key role in strengthening clinical practice and evidence-based care, ensuring our patients continue to receive exceptional surgical services.
You'll contribute to quality improvement and practice development initiatives while supporting the Surgical Ward team. We're looking for someone who is proactive, adaptable and passionate about developing others in a positive and collaborative environment. You'll be joining a friendly and supportive team committed to exceptional patient care and staff development.
This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) fixed-term position for 12 months based at Southern Cross North Harbour Hospital. The role is worked Monday to Friday during standard business hours and offers flexibility around working hours within operational requirements.
