VisionWest Community Trust is a faith led organisation who has been offering community-based services to people in West Auckland since the 1980’s based out of Glen Eden Baptist Church. The Trust responded to the needs present in the community and grew to be one of the largest community-based Trusts in West Auckland. Today, VisionWest provides services to communities in Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Christchurch. 

Supportive Housing services provide holistic, wrap around support for people who have been homeless or who are at risk of losing their tenancy. These services work alongside VisionWest’s Community Housing service and are part of the wider services offered by VisionWest.

Based in West Auckland, the Clinical Manager role will focus on clinical leadership of Supportive Housing in Auckland and Christchurch. You will be providing leadership and support for Social Workers in the areas of social work best practice, training and clinical oversight as needed.

Clinical Managers will be Social Workers and part of the Supportive Housing Senior Management Team. This team will ideally have complementary skills that could cover

  • Mental Health and Addictions
  • Family Violence
  • Working with people associated with gangs
  • Learning and Development

You will also: 

  • Collaborate with the Supportive Housing Leadership Team to oversee and manage Supportive Housing Clinical Practice
  • Developing, sourcing and leading Learning and Development for the Supportive Housing Team
  • Identify areas for growth, new opportunities for supportive housing
  • Provide a holistic approach to care for whanau and individuals in housing needs
  • Foster collaboration with other VisionWest services to meet client needs

Skills and Experience

  • Proven track record of delivering & managing practice in a team setting 
  • An ability to adjust to change with a positive attitude
  • Excellent stakeholder (internal & external) management skills and ability to work with people from all diverse ethnic culture and backgrounds
  • Excellent written communication skills including letter and report writing
  • A sound understanding of community service providers and not-for-profit organisations desirable
  • A strong alignment with VisionWest Values and Mission
