This is a full-time Clinical Administration Assistant and Receptionist role at Lobb Optical Invercargill, located in the heart of Invercargill Central Southland. As a member of the medical administration team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our optometry clinics and providing excellent customer service to our patients.
What you'll be doing:
- Welcoming patients and visitors with warmth, professionalism, and outstanding customer service.
- Managing appointments, clinician schedules, recalls, and waiting lists.
- Responding to patient enquiries in person, over the phone, and via email.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate electronic patient records.
- Supporting the clinical team with patient triaging and pre-case history collection.
- Processing payments, invoices, and health insurance claims where required.
- Performing a variety of general administrative duties to keep the practice running efficiently.
- Maintaining strict patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Previous experience in an optometry, medical, or healthcare reception/administration role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with patients of all ages.
- Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Confidence using computer systems and electronic patient management software.
- The ability to remain calm, professional, and efficient under pressure.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
- Experience as an Eyewear Consultant or Optical Dispenser is a bonus
