As our Client Coordinator you will be the welcoming and empathetic public face of Baywide’s Tauranga office..You will be responsible for  initial contact and follow up with potential clients and visitors, along with ensuring that our   systems are running efficiently.  You will be type of person who is able to use your excellent decision-making skills to help people. Your exceptional organisational skills and paralegal experience will mean that you always have your finger on the pulse of what is happening.

We are happy to work with the successful candidate to facilitate starting in either December or in January after Xmas holidays.

What will the role involve?

  • Screening all incoming enquiries, including telephone calls, emails and visitors to the office
  • Assisting clients with queries including providing legal information, referrals and distributing resources
  • Triaging of clients including applying eligibility criteria for legal advice and scheduling of appointments with staff solicitors
  • Coordinating clinics run by staff solicitors, volunteers and caseworkers
  • Management of client satisfaction surveys and performance measurement surveys.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A paralegal qualification and/or knowledge and experience
  • Prior administrative experience - legal, community based or non-profit organisations are advantageous
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional people management skills 
  • The ability to engage with clients in a calm, empathetic yet authoritative manner
  • Strong computer literacy and the ability to work with an online database
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge of tikanga Māori 
  • Multi-lingual skills, particularly Te Reo Māori, would be advantageous
