We’re looking for a reliable and safety‑focused Truck Driver to join our liquid waste team in Invercargill. If you enjoy working independently, engaging with customers, and being part of a business that puts safety and teamwork first, this could be a great opportunity.

About the Role

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient collection, transport, and disposal of liquid waste products. Reporting to the Industrial Services Manager and working closely with Dispatch, you’ll play a key part in delivering high‑quality service to our customers.

This role operates Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work on a rotating roster, and offers a good mix of hands‑on site duties and driving across the district to service transfer stations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely load, transport, and unload liquid waste
  • Complete water deliveries, bulk tipping, and oil collection
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules provided by Dispatch
  • Carry out daily pre‑start checks and complete logbooks accurately
  • Maintain clear communication with customers and escalate any issues promptly
  • Complete daily paperwork and reporting
  • Follow all WasteCo policies, safety procedures, and NZ transport regulations
  • Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings
  • Support general labouring tasks and other duties as required

What You’ll Bring

  • Full NZ driver’s licence
  • Class 4 licence essential
  • Dangerous  Goods (DG) endorsement – or willingness to obtain
  • Previous driving or liquid waste experience (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong commitment to safety and wellbeing
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Clear communication and customer‑focused attitude
  • Basic computer skills and accurate record‑keeping
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to work productively on your own
