Are you an experienced Class 2 Driver who enjoys life on the road, takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service, and thrives working independently?
We're looking for a reliable and professional driver to join our transport team, servicing our valued customers throughout the Gisborne region. This is a dedicated long-distance delivery role based in Rotorua, offering a regular route, modern equipment, and the benefit of a compressed four-day working week.
About the Role
As our Gisborne Route Driver, you'll be responsible for delivering foodservice products safely and efficiently between Rotorua and Gisborne while maintaining exceptional customer service, food safety, and vehicle care standards.
This is a hands-on role that combines driving, customer service, loading and unloading, vehicle care, and delivery administration. You'll need to be adaptable and able to respond to changing road conditions, weather events, customer requirements, and operational demands.
The role operates:
Wednesday to Saturday
3:00am start, finishing when the run is completed (5pm or before)
As with any transport operation, finishing times will vary depending on delivery volumes, weather conditions, traffic, roadworks, and other operational requirements. Flexibility is essential.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering products safely and professionally throughout the Gisborne region.
- Building positive and lasting relationships with customer by providing friendly, professional, and courteous customer service
- Completing delivery documentation and electronic logbooks accurately
- Maintaining communication with dispatch and management throughout the day.
- Completing vehicle inspections and ensuring your truck is well maintained.
- Collecting returns, credits, crates, and associated paperwork
- Loading and unloading products safely and efficiently.
- Ensuring loads are secured correctly and delivered to the correct customer locations.
- Ensuring food safety, temperature control, and product integrity standards are met.
- Operating in accordance with all transport legislation, health and safety requirements, and company policies
What You'll Need
- Current NZ Class 2 Licence (Class 4 advantageous).
- Clean driving history and strong safety focus.
- Proven reliability and punctuality.
- Previous foodservice delivery experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the Central North Island and Bay of Plenty regions.
- Excellent communication skills and a good command of written and spoken English.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to build positive customer relationships.
- High level of physical fitness with the ability to safely load, unload, and move products.
- Ability to work independently and manage your day effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with paperwork and delivery documentation.
- Ability to manage long-distance driving requirements and changing schedules.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing road, weather, and operational conditions.
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety.
- Ability to pass pre-employment checks, including drug and alcohol screening.
- Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.
- Willingness to work extended days when operationally required

As a Gisborne driver, you'll know that no two days are the same.
Road conditions, weather events, roadworks, traffic incidents, and occasional route disruptions can impact travel times. Because of this, we're looking for someone who is adaptable, resilient, and committed to delivering great service regardless of the challenge.
There may also be occasions where an overnight stay is required due to road closures, weather events, vehicle issues, fatigue management requirements, or other unforeseen circumstances. Accommodation will be arranged and paid for by the company when required.
