Mō te tūraka mahi | About the role 

Join our Engineering Technologies team as a Lecturer at our Dunedin Campus. You will be able to share your knowledge, experience, passion and creativity with ākonga (learners) interested in a career in this industry.

You will be responsible for guiding, teaching and contributing towards the learner journey.

The role includes face to face and blended teaching and learning for theory and practical work at Otago Polytechnic. We are expanding our partnerships with educational organsiations in China. It would be an advantage if you are able to travel to China to teach, however if you’re unable to commit to travel, please continue to apply for this role. 

The position requires a Lecturer who can deliver and modify current material as well as develop new teaching material. You will be required to assess students and report on their capability and ability to use new technology.

Lecturer Salary up to $89,003 gross per annum. Senior Lecturer Salary up to $102,233 gross per annum.

To be successful in this role, you will:

· A specific Civil Engineering qualification or have extensive relevant experience.   

· A tertiary teaching qualification or must be willing to work towards one.

· Be a strong role model to mentor learners

· Have skills suitable for encouraging learners be to achieve their goals. 

· Good communication skills are essential.

· A strong commitment to the support and training of our learners and to meeting their diverse cultural and learning needs

· Alignment and be able to contribute to the values and strategic priorities of Otago Polytechnic 

Support will be given for obtaining your teaching qualification along with other OP training ie safety and wellbeing. If you don’t hold a teaching qualification but are passionate about educating our learners in Civil Engineering then please apply.
