About the Role: 

We are looking for an inspiring and capable Centre Manager to lead our amazing team at BestStart Johnstones Rd. Our environment is welcoming, aesthetically pleasing, and culturally representative of our community, embracing nature and filled with purposeful materials that invite learning.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a passion for developing and nurturing teachers, helping them grow in their roles. Our centre serves a diverse community with a range of needs, so experience managing a community-focused environment is essential. 

While Centre Manager experience is preferred, we are open to considering someone ready to step into this role. We're seeking someone who can foster a positive, supportive team culture and manage the centre with confidence. Enjoy fantastic centre hours of 7:30am – 4:30pm! 

This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week Monday-Friday .

Role requirements:  

Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence. We are looking for the following:  

  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE or Primary) and current Teacher Certification  
  • Strong understanding of child-led curriculum, pedagogy and curriculum  
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard  
  • A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through pedagogical practices  
  • You’ll be known for being a great coach, who can unlock the potential of others  
  • You are an innovator, both in input and output – being part of simplifying the way we do things excites you!
