BestStart Onslow Road is a multicultural childcare centre offering quality care and education in the heart of Papakura. We provide and deliver to each individual child the best learning experiences and top quality, nurturing care from 3 months until they are ready to go to school.
This is a permanent part-time position working 30 hours per week.

About the Role:
Whether you are a newly qualified or an experienced chef if you have a passion for providing meals for young children, we want to hear from you. An exciting opportunity has come about for a new Centre Cook to join our busy team at BestStart Onslow Road.
We are searching for someone who can provide fresh, nutritious, and delicious meals for our children each day. As our Centre Cook you will plan, prepare and cook an appetising and culturally varied menu for the children, including morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea. You’ll need to be efficient with your time and have an excellent knowledge of foods that promote good nutrition and healthy eating for our children.

We are looking for the following:
- Knowledge around health and safety in the kitchen and set high standards of hygiene and housekeeping
- A passion for cooking and baking
- An understanding of allergies and dietary requirements
- Be computer literate in order to design menus and place orders each week
- The ability to remain within the budgets for ordering food
- A passion for promoting healthy eating for young children
