At BestStart Maunu Village, nestled in the heart of Whangarei's beautiful native bush, we believe in creating a nurturing, stimulating environment where young minds can flourish and grow. Our purpose-built center features two interconnected buildings, thoughtfully designed to support children from infancy through to school age.
This is a permanent part-time position working 30-35 hours per week.
What you’ll do:
- Plan and prepare morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea, focusing on healthy and nutritious options
- Create delicious, culturally diverse meals that support the growth and development of tamariki
- Cater thoughtfully to a range of dietary needs and allergies
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment
- Use technology to design menus and manage weekly food orders
- Work within a set budget to make the most of food and supplies
Who we’re looking for:
- Someone with a genuine passion for cooking healthy, nutritious meals for children
- An understanding of the role nutrition plays in early childhood development
- Knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards
