Centre Cook (BestStart Girven Road)
Do you love spending time in the kitchen creating healthy, nourishing meals that bring joy and wellbeing to others? BestStart Girven Road is seeking a passionate, organised Centre Cook to join our team and support the daily health and happiness of our tamariki through wholesome, home-style cooking.
This is a permanent part-time position working 25 hours per week.
About Us:
We provide exceptional, award-winning childcare and early education in a beautiful learning environment with an experienced teaching team passionate about supporting each child. Together with whānau, we build the foundations of learning and empower tamariki to explore their innate curiosity and thrive as capable, competent learners.
What you’ll do:
- Plan and prepare morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea, focusing on healthy and nutritious options
- Create delicious, culturally diverse meals that support the growth and development of tamariki
- Cater thoughtfully to a range of dietary needs and allergies
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment
- Use technology to design menus and manage weekly food orders
- Work within a set budget to make the most of food and supplies

- An understanding of the role nutrition plays in early childhood development
