Mo Te Tunga - About the Role:

As the Centre Admin at BestStart Merivale, you will be the backbone of daily operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. As a first point of contact for our families (whanau) you will build trusted relationships, providing excellent customer service and answering queries. A key part of your role will be providing support to our staff, helping to maintain our high standards of care and education and contributing to creating a friendly and inviting environment.

Your administrative duties will include:

  • Greeting parents, children, and visitors with a warm and friendly demeanor.
  • Managing phone calls, emails, and other communications.
  • Handling enrolment inquiries and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assisting with billing, invoicing, and fee collection.
  • Coordinating schedules, appointments, and meetings.
  • Supporting the Director and teaching staff with administrative tasks.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and centre policies.
  • Maintaining a tidy and organized reception area.
  • Assisting with event planning and coordination.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • A friendly and professional attitude.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • A passion for working in a child-focused environment.
