 A bit about LUCK

LUCK is a safe place and space where people can come to feel supported, reconnect, find a sense of belonging, and enjoy a hot meal. LUCK provides a number of activities that support people and whānau to engage in fun, healthy and safe experiences that can increase opportunities and mauri ora (wellbeing). The Kitchen Co-ordinator is responsible for all kitchen and food related service to provide tasty, nutritious meals which meet the quality standards, in a hygienic and organised kitchen.

The ability to think outside of the box is important as is the empathy and resilience to provide a service to those in our community who need support to enable them to live good lives. 

This is a casual position working as and when required.

Our LUCK Venue is open Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3pm.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience and ability to communicate and work with people from all walks of life
  • Both NZQA Unit Standards 168 & 167 and a Food Hygiene Certificate 
  • Experience managing a small kitchen cooking good hearty meals
  • Ability to plan a menu within a budget and in a sustainable way
  • Reliable, hardworking, and good with people
