Mō te tūranga: About the role: We currently have an exciting opportunity for two Casual Educators – Holiday Programme to join our team.
Casual Educators – Holiday Programme are our front line in engaging tamariki through delivering the Zoo’s school holiday programme. They are the friendly, welcoming faces ensuring holiday programme participants have a fun, meaningful experience.
He kōrero mōu: About you:
- Loves working with children and young people.
- Enjoys being part of an inclusive and positive team.
- Has previous experience working in a visitor attraction or education facility.
- Is interested in environmental education and passionate about conservation.
- Must be available to work during school holiday periods.
- Has a strong customer focus and is open, friendly, and curious.
- Thrives on being creative and enthusiastic.
- Demonstrates excellent organisational skills.
- Will enjoy connecting people with animals.
- Have a good level of fitness (there is a lot of walking, and we are on a hill!)
- Level-headed and takes health and safety seriously.

- Successful applicants will need to complete a Ministry of Justice and Police Vetting checks, and a Drug and Alcohol Test before starting. All of which we arrange for you through the providers.
- Applicants for this position need New Zealand residency or have a valid New Zealand work permit.
