Carpentry Tutor
Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role
We are seeking a Carpentry Tutor to join our Trades and Technology team at EIT | Te Pūkenga, based in Hawke’s Bay. This role involves teaching carpentry theory and practical subjects across all levels in a project-based learning environment. You will play a key role in shaping the next generation of carpentry professionals by providing hands-on learning experiences and mentoring students.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $75,000 and $85,000, dependent on skills and experience.
You will report to the Assistant Head of School and will be responsible for:
- Teaching carpentry unit standards across all levels.
- Facilitating engaging and practical learning experiences.
- Providing pastoral care and mentoring to students.
- Participating in assessment, moderation, and programme development.
- Maintaining accurate student and programme records.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Extensive experience in the carpentry industry (essential).
- Relevant tertiary qualification and trade certification (essential).
- Well-developed oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to demonstrate links between theory and practice.
- Commitment to student success and cultural inclusivity.
- Licensed Building Practitioner status (desirable).
