We seek a qualified Carpenter to join our team as a Lecturer in the Carpentry area based at our Dunedin Campus. You will be able to share your knowledge, experience, passion and creativity with learners interested in Carpentry as a profession.
You will teach carpentry trade skills and knowledge to students in either full time/ part time study, in a managed apprenticeship scheme, block courses and night classes. You will be responsible for teaching and contributing towards student attendance, course guide information, curriculum development, student discipline, student results, moderation, progress reports and resource bookings.
The successful applicant will have:
· Trade or National Certificate in Carpentry qualifications or have extensive relevant experience
· A current First Aid Certificate
· Current drivers licence
· Site Safe Passport
· A tertiary teaching qualification or have a willingness to work towards one.
Supporting and mentoring young people in industry based training would be preferred.
The role includes managing students placed in apprenticeships with employers in the Otago region. Some travelling will be required and hours will need to be worked flexibly around the needs of students, apprentices and employers.
