Cares required for sleepover shifts in Wellington

We are currently looking for Wellington based caregivers who are experience in both Dementia and/or Palliative care, to provide exceptional in-home support to some of our newer clients.  In this role, you will be supporting our clients overnight to ensure they are well cared for, therefore allowing them this opportunity to remain in their own homes.  Here at Miranda Smith Homecare, we offer 24/7 care to our clients with a range of shifts to cover mornings, nights, sleepovers and wake overs , Monday to Sunday.   Depending on the shifts worked, you could be providing personal cares, companionship, meal prep, home-help support and night time assistance.   

As the first independently owned private homecare agency established in New Zealand, we continue to work closely with our clients and their families to provide exceptional support in each person's private home. We have a history of providing excellent care to our clients and excellent support to our valued Caregivers.  

We are looking for kind, loyal, gentle and experienced caregivers to come and join our team.  We have a dedicated office team providing support and guidance to our caregivers. We have a registered nurse on the team to support you in your role and an after hours coordination team to ensure you have the support you need should you work weekends and nights.  

We require our carers to have a full driver license with a reliable car to get to and from their clients homes.  You must have already obtained the right to legally work in NZ.  So, if you're looking to work casual/flexible hours and want to make a positive impact in your local community,  we would love to hear from you! 

We would love to hear from you if you have had experience with the following:

  • Companionship and home-help, which may include light house work
  • Meal preparation
  • Personal Cares; to include showering, dressing, grooming
  • Dementia care
  • Palliative care

Ideal Candidate must have: 

  • Recent care giving/healthcare preferred
  • A clean full NZ Driver's License and a car;
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work legally in New Zealand.
  • A clear background and criminal check.
