We are a small centre based in two residential houses in the Oaklands area of Halswell, with a park, school, and library in close proximity to the centre. About the Role:
We are searching for a caregiver or someone looking at starting training towards an ECE qualification, to join our small Nursery of 7 children. The right applicant must be experienced in caring for tamariki aged 0-2 year olds, and have a patient, caring, nurturing nature.

Reporting to our Centre Manager and working within a close-knit team you will be joining a dedicated team of Teachers who provide quality care and education to our tamariki.
Here’s what you’ll do on a day-to day basis:
- Provide amazing care and education to our tamariki
- Champion the team spirit and engage in activities that empower and extend tamariki learning
- Fully participate in centre activities across all classrooms and cover staff breaks where necessary
- Support centre operations at all levels
This is a permanent position working 35 - 40 hours per week Monday-Friday, some late shifts will be required.
Role requirements:
An ECE qualification is not required for this role, but a natural affinity with children and experience working with children under two is a must. Some understanding of the curriculum or cultural knowledge would be an advantage. You’ll also have a high level of initiative and an ability to take direction from others. Good communication skills, team spirit, sense of fun and humour is essential!
