About the Role:
As a caregiver at BestStart, you will have the incredible opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young children, providing them with a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. Here’s what you’ll do on a day-to day basis:
- Provide amazing care and education to our tamariki
- Champion the team spirit and engage in activities that empower and extend tamariki learning
- Fully participate in centre activities across all classrooms and cover staff breaks where necessary
- Support centre operations at all levels
This position is based in our Bambini Room, working alongside our 0-3 year old tamariki. In our nurturing home-like environment, we value whanau involvement, everything we do works around your child’s home routines, our primary caregiving approach ensures consistency between home and centre and helps to build a strong sense of belonging for our children. Here we introduce the basic concepts of Montessori, fostering relationships and independence.
This is a permanent position working 30-40 hours per week Monday-Friday. We can be flexible to your work/life balance needs.
Role requirements:
Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence. An ECE qualification is not required for this role, but a natural affinity with children – especially infants and toddlers, and experience working with children under five is a must. You’ll also have a high level of initiative and an ability to take direction from others.
