Caregiver (BestStart Melling)
Are you passionate about supporting young learners and creating meaningful connections with children and their families? We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic Caregiver to join our team at BestStart Melling on a fixed-term basis from June 2026 to January 2027.
We pride ourselves on being strongly connected to our community. Building relationships beyond our centre is important to us, and we regularly explore our local area with tamariki. Our children enjoy visits to nearby businesses such as the retirement home, pet shop, supermarket, café, medical centre and dentist. These outings, along with visits from community members to our centre, provide fun and authentic real-life experiences that help children feel connected to the world around them.
We are also proud of the rich diversity within our centre and the strong relationships we build with our families. We celebrate the unique cultures of our community and regularly come together for events that bring our centre whānau closer. In this role, you will work in partnership with kaiako, whānau, tamariki and the wider community to help create a holistic learning environment where everyone feels they belong and has their place.
About the role:
- Fixed term position from June 2026 – January 2027
- Supporting kaiako with the care and education of tamariki
- Creating warm, engaging learning environments
- Building strong relationships with children, families and the community
- Participating in excursions and centre events
