Toi Ohomai delivers quality vocational education and training to both domestic and international students, across five main campuses in Rotorua, Tauranga, Taupō, Tokoroa and Whakatāne, and 68 delivery sites across the Bay of Plenty and South Waikato. Toi Ohomai is now a subsidiary organisation for NZ Institute of Skills & Technology (working name) and part of a transformational change unifying all 16 Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics across Aotearoa; together with other work-based, provider-based and online learning. Collectively we will be NZ’s largest tertiary education provider with national and regional reach enabling learners and employers to move between workplaces and other educational offerings and between locations as their needs change.
Toi Ohomai prides itself on being well-connected to the needs of our learners and the expectations of our industry and employers. The Careers and Employability Facilitator plays an important role in supporting learners with their employability skill development and identification of personal attributes to complement their academic learning. The role is also pivotal in supporting Faculties to embed employability provision and increase opportunities for learners to engage with employers.
You will work with a dedicated and specialised Careers and Employability Team within the wider Student Support Team to ensure that all Toi Ohomai learners are provided with engaging opportunities to expand their skill-set and maximise their future education and/or employment opportunities.
The Careers and Employability Facilitator role (1.0 FTE) will be based at the Windermere, Tauranga campus. The successful candidate will be required travel to other Toi Ohomai campuses as and when required.
Reporting to the Team Lead Careers and Employability, the key responsibilities of this role include:
• Delivery of an innovative and student-centred Careers and Employability service
• Support for Toi Ohomai staff to embed Careers and Employability
• Use of technology to develop delivery resources and materials
• Providing learner opportunities for employment and volunteer work
• Event organisation
Key to your success in this role will be your demonstrated ability to work with tertiary learners of all ages, abilities and cultural backgrounds. The demonstrated skills, experience and qualifications required for this role include:

• A Diploma level qualification
• Strong evidence in education, marketing and/or events
