Mō te tūnga | About the role: 

As a caregiver in Iona, our Dementia wing, you will work under the guidance and supervision of our nursing team, following each residents individual care plan. You will provide essential support to our residents and their families, touching the lives of those who need it most, making a positive impact, a role where you will make a difference.

This is a casual position, we provide support for our residents 24 hours a day 7 days a week - this includes weekend work where you can earn up to $4 more an hour for your hours worked on a Saturday or Sunday.

  • assisting our residents with their personal needs (including eating meals, hydration, maintaining skin integrity and personal hygiene) always with the highest level of respect, dignity, and compassion. 
  • encouraging our residents to interact and take part in our social activities, by promoting participation, enhancing their overall well-being and quality of life 
  • accurately recording observations 
  • maintaining an empathetic and kind approach towards residents and families, fostering a supportive environment that promotes trust and comfort
  • Collaboration with colleagues by offering support and contributing to a team-oriented atmosphere, ensuring a caring, compassionate, and efficient work environment.
