We are seeking an experienced, people-first business-led Care Home Manager to lead the teams to service excellence at Colwyn House Lifecare.

Colwyn House Lifecare is a 73-bed Care Home specialising in Dementia and Psychogeriatric Care, located in the heart of Hastings, Hawke’s Bay.

You will lead the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring residents living with dementia and psychogeriatric conditions receive safe, dignified, and high-quality care in a supportive environment. Working alongside an experienced Clinical Manager, you will foster a culture of empathy, clinical excellence, and continuous improvement for both residents and staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading daily operations with a strong focus on dementia-informed and psychogeriatric care practices 
  • Supporting teams to provide compassionate, person-centred care that enhances residents’ wellbeing and quality of life 
  • Building a positive, culturally safe environment for residents, families, and staff 
  • Ensuring compliance with Nga Paerewa standards and best practice aged care delivery 
  • Managing staffing, financial performance, quality systems, and operational planning 
  • Coaching and developing multidisciplinary teams to deliver excellence in complex aged care services 
  • Strengthening community and whānau connections while representing the Heritage Lifecare values and brand 

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Proven senior operational leadership experience, ideally within aged care, dementia, mental health, or healthcare environments 
  • Strong understanding of Dementia and Psychogeriatric Care and the unique needs of vulnerable older adults 
  • Excellent people leadership skills with a compassionate, calm, and solutions-focused approach 
  • Experience leading high-performing teams through complexity and change 
  • Strong business and financial management capability, including full P&L responsibility 
  • Understanding of Nga Paerewa Health and Disability Services Standards and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice 
  • Energy, resilience, empathy, and a genuine passion for improving the lives of older people every day
