Ahi kā ki uta, ahi kā ki tai, kia horahorahia, purapura o ahi kā. Let your home fires be seen inland, let you home fires be seen along the coast, and may the sparks from your home fires rise up and be seen throughout the world.
Are you an outstanding educator experienced in facilitating ākonga (learners), with a desire to help people transform their lives? Do you want to help those within your Iwi or Ngāi Māori realise their full potential? If so, Capable NZ wants to hear from you.
Capable NZ is Otago Polytechnic’s world-leading provider of Work-Based Learning (WBL) Qualifications offering the Independent Learning Pathway (ILP) and Professional Practice Qualifications, re-engaging experienced adults with education. We provide people with extensive professional and community experience, the opportunity to earn a tertiary qualification based on their skills and expertise, and through new learning at and through their workplace.
Due to continued growth of our tauira Māori throughout Aotearoa/New Zealand, we need talented facilitators to work in specific undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the forefront of new learning models. We also provide programmes specific to those who live and breathe tikaka Māori, as well as iwi, Trust Boards, Māori Urban Authorities and other Māori organisations that support them.
As a highly competent facilitator working largely with our Māori ākonga, you will travel with learners through their personal journey of reflection and self-assessment.
Our team is largely remote, working from home and utilising technology such as Teams to connect with our learners and colleagues. We have offices in Dunedin and Auckland should you wish to work onsite from an office.
We have a part-time, 0.6 FTE fixed-term role available to cover parental leave until May 2027 however if you're interested in less hours or contract work please apply and indicate in your cover letter your preference.
