Port Nelson is the maritime gateway for the Nelson Marlborough region – a vital hub for economic activity and a key stakeholder in the region’s continued growth and prosperity.
Reporting to the Marine Operations Manager, the Calwell Site Manager will have the overall responsibility for providing safe and efficient operations while delivering outstanding customer service to port users and stakeholders.
This role is diverse and includes developing, leading and managing all aspects of the Calwell site activities. Key aspects of this role include:
- Providing strong leadership to a small and experienced team
- Ensure safety, compliance and operational performance
- Delivering exceptional customer service
- Identifying opportunities for business development
- Heavy plant operation experience is desirable
This is a key position and the successful applicant must have a strong marine background, be an exceptional leader, highly organised, and have a passion for driving safety and compliance. Also important is proven experience working under pressure and an ability to problem-solve.
