We're excited to offer a 12-month fixed-term opportunity as a Container Terminal Planner within our high-performing Planning Team. This is your chance to apply your operational expertise to help drive the planning and logistics that keep our terminal running safely and efficiently. 

About the Role:

As a Terminal Planner, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient receival and delivery of containers across the terminal. You’ll work closely with our Planning Team and operational leaders, using your systems knowledge and decision-making skills to optimise terminal performance. This is a great opportunity to dive into the world of logistics and container terminal operations while gaining experience with Navis N4, a globally recognized container terminal planning software.

You’ll also play an important role during Hawke’s Bay’s harvest season, an exciting peak time for our terminal. This will give you valuable exposure to high-demand operations that demand quick thinking, coordination, and operational excellence. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate the receival and delivery of containers to support safe, efficient terminal operations.
  • Collaborate with shipping lines, contractors, and agencies to ensure seamless operational flow.
  • Manage planning requirements in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment—especially during peak periods.
  • Utilise Navis N4 and other planning tools to optimise container movement and yard utilisation.

About You:

  • You’re an organised, proactive planner with a strong focus on safety and customer service.
  • You excel in complex, fast‑changing environments and can quickly prioritise competing demands.
  • You bring excellent communication and teamwork skills to support collaboration across multiple teams.
  • You’re flexible and comfortable working within a 24/7 rostered environment, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Experience in terminal, logistics, transport, or similar operational environments is highly advantageous.
