COMMUNICATIONS ADVISOR
Are you a proactive communicator with a knack for storytelling, strong stakeholder skills, and a passion for meaningful work? Napier Port is looking for an experienced Communications Advisor – and we’re open to appointing the role at a senior level depending on your experience.
At Napier Port, we don’t sell sneakers or soft drinks – but we do help move the goods that keep Aotearoa running. Our communications are less about hype and more about meaning – regional impact, community engagement, and the logistics that quietly make everything else possible.
Working closely with our Corporate Affairs team and across the business, you’ll play a key role in developing and delivering clear, engaging communication to our people, customers, community and stakeholders. From internal updates and CEO messages to event collateral, social media, and major project communications, this is a varied role in a dynamic and proudly local business.
This role is ideal for a communications professional with:
- Minimum of 3–5+ years of experience in a communications role (agency or in-house)
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Experience delivering communications across a range of channels and audiences
- An ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across teams, especially in a large organisational structure
- A proactive, adaptable mindset and strong sense of initiative
- Experience in infrastructure, utilities or commercial environments
