Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

We are seeking a Nursing Lecturer for a full-time permanent role to join our School of Nursing at EIT, based in Tairāwhiti (Gisborne). This role will contribute to teaching across the Bachelor of Nursing, Postgraduate, Enrolled Nursing, and micro-credential courses, with a strong focus on clinical simulation and technology-enhanced learning.

The appointing salary for this role will be as per the TEU Academic Collective Employment Agreement and is negotiable, based on clinical experience and academic qualifications.  
You will report to the Head/Assistant Head of School Nursing and be responsible for:

  • Teaching and facilitating student learning across nursing programmes.
  • Developing and delivering curriculum content, including simulation-based learning.
  • Supporting students’ academic success and professional development.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure curriculum continuity and quality.
  • Contributing to research and programme development initiatives.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current Registered Nurse practising certificate (essential).
  • Bachelor of Nursing (essential) and postgraduate qualification (desired).
  • Experience in nursing practice and preferably tertiary teaching.
  • Knowledge of Mātauranga Māori and commitment to cultural safety.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience or interest in clinical simulation and innovative teaching methods.

We are looking for kaimahi who hold (or are keen to gain) the New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (NZCATT Level 5) qualification (or equivalent). If you don’t yet have it, we will support you to complete it as part of your role at EIT.
