Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

We are seeking a passionate Nursing Lecturer to join our dynamic School of Nursing at EIT | Te Pūkenga. This role plays a vital part in delivering high-quality education across our Bachelor of Nursing, Postgraduate, Enrolled Nursing, and micro-credential programmes. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of innovative teaching and learning experiences, including high-fidelity simulation and blended online delivery. This position is essential to support the ongoing development of our nursing programmes and to ensure our ākonga are well-prepared to meet the evolving needs of the healthcare sector.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $79,416 and $89,639. The Salary is Negotiable, dependent on Qualification, Skills and Relevant Experience.
The Nursing Lecturer – Clinical Arts and Technology Centre (CAT) is based in our School of Nursing, EIT | Te Pūkenga, reporting to the Head/Assistant Head of School Nursing, and will be responsible for:

  • Teaching specific subjects within the Nursing Programme.
  • Developing and delivering learning objectives and teaching plans.
  • Facilitating diverse learning experiences, including high-fidelity simulation and blended online delivery.
  • Participating in curriculum development and course material updates.
  • Supporting students in developing independent learning strategies and providing academic guidance.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A current practising certificate as a Registered Nurse (essential).
  • A Bachelor of Nursing (essential) and a postgraduate qualification (desired).
  • Experience in nursing practice and tertiary teaching (desired).
  • Clinical simulation experience and/or qualifications (desired).
  • Highly developed oral, written, computing, and interpersonal skills.
