As a casual mooring Lines Handler, you will play a vital role in the marine team. Assisting in the mooring operations of ships docking at our port as well as at times assisting with ensuring the safe and efficient transfer of pilots to and from vessels. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment. 

Key priorities of the role are: 

  • Assist in mooring operations for incoming and outgoing vessels. 
  • Assist onboard the pilot boat to safely transfer pilots to and from ships under the direction of the Launch master.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pilot boat and mooring areas.
  • Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed diligently.
  • Participate in training sessions and safety drills as required.

What we are seeking

  • Previous experience in a maritime environment is preferred but not necessary.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A practical understanding of safety standards and protocols.

We run a 24/7 operation so Availability for flexible hours, including weekends and holidays is essential.

Successful candidates will have the ability to communicate effectively, will be a team player and have a strong customer focus. They must have a proven record of reliability, a positive work ethic and attitude.
