We are seeking an experienced Business Improvement Lead to play a key role in FMG's Contracts of Insurance Act project. Working across the Mutual, you will undertake detailed impact and gap analysis to determine the changes required to meet legislative obligations under the new Act. 

Partnering with stakeholders across FMG, you will assess current-state processes, identify impacts, and define the business requirements needed to achieve compliance. These requirements will then be provided to delivery squads to support solution design, user story development and the implementation of system changes.

This hands-on role requires strong business analysis, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills. You will work closely with subject matter experts, Legal, Compliance, Product, Claims, Underwriting, Technology and Communications teams to ensure FMG clearly understands the changes required and is well positioned to meet its obligations under the act.

What you'll do:

  • Conduct gap analysis to assess FMG's current state against the requirements of the Contracts of Insurance Act.
  • Identify impacts across processes, systems, products, documentation, reporting and customer communications.
  • Facilitate workshops and engage stakeholders to understand requirements and define compliance obligations.
  • Create clear business requirements detailing the changes needed as per the gap analysis undertaken.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Product, Claims, Underwriting and Technology teams to ensure requirements are well understood and aligned to legislative intent.
  • Provide recommendations on the scope and prioritisation of work required to achieve compliance.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Underwriting disclosure obligations.
  • Claims handling requirements.
  • Customer communications and insurance documentation.
  • Plain language product documentation.
  • Assessment of regulatory change requirements and compliance gaps.

What you'll bring:

  • Experience in business analysis, business improvement, regulatory change or transformation roles.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex business problems and translate findings into clear requirements and recommendations.
  • Excellent process mapping, analytical and documentation skills.
  • Experience working across multiple business functions to define future-state solutions and business requirements.

 Insurance, financial services or regulatory change experience will be advantageous.
